The Year 9 Literature paper will have two questions; one question on Macbeth and one question on the poems we have studied this term. Each question will be worth the same amount of marks. The paper will be one hour long and you should spend about 30 minutes on each paper.

You need to revise the techniques that James Berry has used and the themes of the poems. You will have a choice of three questions and you must only do one.

- All of the scenes we have read and studied so far.
- Shakespeare’s use of language and imagery in the scenes to convey ideas.
- How each of the characters are portrayed in the scenes.
- The themes we have looked at which stretch across the scenes.
- Techniques used by Shakespeare (similes, metaphor, images, language, sounds).
For the Poetry question you will need to study the three poems we have covered this term:
- ‘People Equal’
- ‘Boxer Man in a Skippin’ Workout’
- ‘Seeing Granny’
